Altiris Deployment Server Data Manager service won't start

RDP 2.0, Windows, installed with all the default settings. Win2003 Standard Edition.

The "Altiris Deployment Server Data Manager" service is set to start automatically, but it doesn't stay up. The application event log suggests that it's throwing a duplicate address exception. (AKA EADDRINUSE)

This appears to be preventing the Deployment Server Web Console from working, but the local Deployment Server Console application appears to work ok. (Web Console gives a message asking if Data Manager is working when you click on the specific server.)

Is this truly my Web Console problem?

Why isn't this starting? Which address is in conflict, and how do I configure it?

I figured out part of this -- I still had a term services session running from some time ago where I had gotten disconnected. I was in the Deployment Manager Console in that session.

I forced that session to log off, and now the Deployment Server Data Manager will start.

This still didn't get the Web interface to work for me.
