Can't connect to moved DB
Hi all, I having an issue with my RDP once I moved it to my new SQL server. For whatever reason, I get the error when I try to open the console, :(Unable to locate site: Original SQL Server) A message comes up asking if I want to connect to another site and I try to connect to my new SQL server and I then get the follwing error: Unable to connect to Altiris Deployment Server DB Management Service. The service is running in the services console and restarts without any issues, so kinda stumped what the problem is.
Since I was having problems, I moved the DB back to the original SQL server where the console opens up fine. Am I missing something? I created a new ODBC connection to the new server and don't get any errors when I test the connection. Is there something in the registry that needs to edited to point to the new database or server?
I'm currently running RDP version 3.6.

Re: Can't connect to moved DB
Hi Mike
Have you changed the default.cfg file in the eXpress share to show the new SQL Server?
If you open the file in a text editor you should modify the 'SQLDatabaseName' entry to show the name of the new sql server. As a hint this can also be a DNS Alias!
You should stop the Altiris DB Management service before you make this change and then start it again following.
Regards
Brendan
