Creating an Image
Im trying to create an image of my server, but it doesnt seem be to be successful. Keep getting PXE error E55(check attachment). I have even reinstalled my DS, PXE server and as well as DHCP. Still keep getting the same error. I have not changed my server IP address. Does anybody have an idea what could be the problem. And also what options do I need in my DHCP. At present I have scope options 60 and 66.
Thnx

Re: Creating an Image
Check whether you have any firewall configured on the deployment server/pxe server which blocks the access.
Also it could be due to buggy BIOS/hardware,try with different hardware.
Hope this helps,
Gopi

Re: Creating an Image
I believe the target servers are trying to reach to the NIC which does not have PXE server running. Try changing the PXE server configuration such that it listens in all NIC ports.
Hope this helps,
Gopi

Re: Creating an Image
Well during my struggle I had the following errors PXE 51, 53, 55. I had this same problem setting up RDP almost a year ago, but since i didnt put my solutions down on paper I had to break my head once again. So this ones for me just incase I muck up again and as well as for anyone who is a beginner with RDP.
Reasons for the above errors,
PXE 51: As I had two nics in my server I started of assigning the wrong nic port(IP address) as my DS/PXE server. Remember if all the servers are on one server, each must have same IP address. Anyone using ver 2.2 should not have this problem, as the software smartly realises that the server has two nics and guides the user well on choosing the correct nic.
PXE 53: I was mapping the drive wrong, for where I wanted to drop my image or the other way around where you would like to pick image from. Default drive used as F: and it took me some time to realise that F: was in use by another drive. Remember if you choose to use a different drive letter, in bootworks summary it still shows that F: has been mapped but if you look closer below that it should also show drive letter you have choosen. Also if duing bootworks setup you click back and come back to map drive configurations it reslects default F:
PXE 55: This error can be seen if you install/reinstall DHCP or a new scope after PXE server has been installed. As it leaves out from adding PXE client option 60. This option again is only needed if you have DHCP and PXE on same server. All you need to do is reinstall PXE server from RDP cd again. Look under "ds" folder to find it. If you have DHCP and PXE on a different server remeber to add router address in DHCP that is option 003.
