DAgent not installed after changing the XML file.

Hi all,
I have installed RDP 6.0.0 and trying to deploy
Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise 64 bit.
If I leave the unattend-ent.xml file untouched, everything works fine.
Once i make any modification to the file, the job will not install Altiris agent.(all the modifications to the server's configuration, are being deployed fine).
Attached is the modified answer file.(only partitioned the hard drive)
Any ideas ??
Thank you for your kind attention,
Shimon.

Re: DAgent not installed after changing the XML file.

Try to install the agent after the OS is installed and see if it fails. Also check if Altiris Agent Service is listed under Services.

Re: DAgent not installed after changing the XML file.

I too am having this issue. Initially the OS deploy worked but after I modify the .xml the $OEM$ file copy stops working so no Dagent gets installed. Please let me know if anyone has any intel on this issue. Is there some addition in the WAIK we can put in there to allow this?

Thanx,
Matt

Re: DAgent not installed after changing the XML file.

Hi Matt,
Attached is a modified xml file that should work.
Got it from tech support in HP.
They say it should work, although I haven't tried it myself.
The idea is to copy the agent's installation file before the actual installation.
The only modification in the attached file is partitioning the hard drive.
Good luck,
Shimon.

Re: DAgent not installed after changing the XML file.

Thanks! I was actually able to get it working. I took the disk partitioning out of the unattended.xml file and instead used the image task to set the C: drive size. I did have other customizations in the xml so it is not like you can't use that for SNMP, etc. It is just something with the disk sizing.

Thanx,
Matt
