Default Systems Management Password
What does the Systems Management Password default to after doing an automated deployment of the SmartStart Agents?
Cheers,
Jeremy.

Re: Default Systems Management Password
I believe you are asking about the login credentials when you try to connect to http://
there are two login methods used, host operating system authentication in which your operating system login and password is used (incase of windows it is administrator, for linux it is root account password), this is the default authentication method used. This is the method RDP also uses.
otherwise whatever user id and password given during installation is used.
Hope this helps,
Gopi

Re: Default Systems Management Password
It's the password in the CPQHMMD.ACL file that is related to the HP Insight Web Agent.
When you deploy the Agents silently, you don't get asked to enter a password, so I'm just trying to find out what the default is.
Cheers,
Jeremy.

Re: Default Systems Management Password
It's deployed on Windows 2003 SP1.
Interestingly enough that SmartStart 7.3 CD uses the following syntax to deploy the Agents...
setupex.exe /smartstart:C:\ntcsp\mgmtpwd.txt
...with the contents of the mgmtpwd.txt file being...
ElmAdminPassword=ZG9nZWFy
ElmUserPassword=ZG9nZWFy
ElmOperatorPassword=ZG9nZWFy
Therefore, you would think that the Administrator password would be ZG9nZWFy.
It's all just too confusing with this not being documented anywhere. But thank you for the information.
Cheers,
Jeremy.

Re: Default Systems Management Password
Try using administrator account password or simply 'password'
Hope this helps,

Re: Default Systems Management Password
Where do you find information on the syntax for the setup.exe, setupc.exe and setupex.exe for the deployment of the agents?
I have been unable to find this anywhere.
For example: I can use this...
setupex.exe /smartstart:C:\ntcsp\mgmtpwd.txt
...or this...
SETUPC.EXE /f /use-latest
Which way is the right way?
Cheers,
Jeremy.

Re: Default Systems Management Password
To configure the agents run the SETUP program and select configure components. Then after you configure use your normal deployment process.

Re: Default Systems Management Password
The default passwood is the domain and user from the local server with the passwood.
Nomaly with the PSP 7.4 you will not need a password any more, that information is taken from the local account when the psp is installed
