Deployment Centre console.

I've moved a BL20p into a different enclosure, although HP SIM picks up the fact that the server has moved RDP Deployment Centre console still displays the server in the original position. We're using RDP 1.6 - has anyone seen this before?

I've found a setting that may do the trick "update all agent conections". I'm resuming that this will stop / start the agents and refresh???? What is the impact of this setting? Please can you advise.

You're saying that you moved it to a new enclosure and RDP still shows it in the old enclosure? Are you talking about in "Physical Device View" or what? We only change the physical device view settings when you move a blade. All the other groups are logical and decided by the user.

Try deleting the blade from RDP and then restarting the agent on the blade - it will re-add itself to the console with the correct name. Based on where we store that name it would be nearly impossible for it to hold an old name.

We've tried deleting the entry and resetting the client service but when the computer comes back into the deployment console it still shows it's in the wrong slot (second enclosure slot 4 - it's original position) However when you view the server via the ILO it picks up the correct slot (first enclosure slot 7). We are looking at the physical devices view. Is there something we're missing........My only other idea is to move it back to it's original position!

What was the reason for the move in the first place?


The iLO will/should always show the proper Enclosure/Slot as it is directly accessing it.

The RDP console is a different story. It will not necessarily show the correct slot if you move a blade because the configuration for that blade is built and stored in a database so that you can later recover from failed hardware (by removing the failed blade and re-inserting a new one and having RDP rebuild the blade as per the same steps you took to build the original).

There is probably some manual configuration setting you can make to adjust the properties, but Iam unsure of where it is located. I have not had the oppurtunity to keep my skills up to date and am afraid that I have moved that particular knowledge from active memory to inactive memory. Someone want to fund a small lab for me?

Did you also remove the server name in the New Computer group (or another group that you may have moved the server to)? Sounds like the server MAC address/Serial number is still tied to an entry in the database causing the server to be added to the old enclosure.
