Duplicate Altiris Agent ID
I have noticed that they both have the same agent ID, and I guess that is the problem. I tried uninstalling the agent on both servers, but when it is installed again they still have the same ID.
Any hint is welcome.

Re: Duplicate Altiris Agent ID
This problem occurs when two bladeservers are configured same name in blade enclosure.
just make sure to give different name for blades and see whether it solves your problem.
Also if it is BL30p try upgrading your enclosure firmware which could also cause this problem.
Hope this helps,
Gopi

Re: Duplicate Altiris Agent ID
I found a hint about duplicate iLO or enclosure name in the Altiris forum. We have no such thing.
But we did install a new enclosure some weeks ago, renaming an old eclosure and giving the new the old name.
I can see that in RDP both servers are seen in the same rack, enclosure and position though they are not. RDP is as far as I can see the only place where the false information is kept, HPSIM shows correct data.
How do I reset/update RDP?

Re: Duplicate Altiris Agent ID
try removing both enclosure entries from RDP and let them add back automatically and see how it gets recognized.

Re: Duplicate Altiris Agent ID
When you go into each blade's iLo what bay do they report or think there in?
When you setup RDP did you tell it to key off server serial numbers?

Re: Duplicate Altiris Agent ID
Rack view did show correct position.
But a remove/insert of the blades cured the problem :-)
Thanks.
