Illegal Opcode when Deploying Win2k3 x64 using Scripting Toolkit Windows Edition

Hi,

I need help with deploying a Win2k3 R2 x64 build on a DL365 G1 server. It seems after the Array Configuration job completes and the OS job starts and finishes, the server will reboot and the Red screen of death will appear with an illegal Opcode error. When I re-run the OS install job again it works without any issues.
Another thing, when I run the Erase Array Configuration job on the DL365 G1, it does not erase the array. This is very strange as the same job works on other model types, such as DL385 G2 & DL585.

Rgds,

I am having the same problem with DL380G6 servers when applying any image. Even the simple NTFS.img.

RDP 3.83

I use to hear about a red screen on a Red Hat deploy never a windows. Just for grins make sure your BIOS and RAID firmware is up to date.

Oh and if you see the read screen can you snag a picture and post it (also if the firmware update worked past back - as it will help others).

Firmware was up to date and so were the drivers. We ended up running a script that blew away all configs and then restored them. After this, all imaging was successful. I am not sure what was in the existing config that was causing these errors.

Barton7,

Could you please provide the script that you are running to solve this issue?

We are experiencing the exact same issue.

I used the built-in system erase job - which I can't pull up right now because I am having some other troubles with RDP. As soon as I can get in I will give you the exact name of the job and the scripts that are being run.

Re: Illegal Opcode when Deploying Win2k3 x64 using Scripting Toolkit Windows Edition

I'm having some odd issue with regards to this ILLEGAL OPCODE message. My contact is telling me that he ONLY gets this problem if during the image deployment the Smart Array is in 1729 Disk optimization mode (Mode only used on RAID5/6). Most of my contacts use RAID 1 for OS, so this would not be an issue for them.
