How to edit VMware & Linux kickstart files?

Could someone please explain what is the simplest method of editing a kickstart file?
What editor should I use to avoid corrupting the template file?

I want to change the time zone, default passwords etc on the ESX jobs on a new RDP v6.0 installation.

Thanks.

Re: How to edit VMware & Linux kickstart files?

Hi.

First off make a copy of the original file before editing anything, just in case.

Then use notepad or even better a opensource editor named notepad++

Don't think there is a app that just does esx/linux kickstart files so you'd have to do it manualy.

Thanks. I downloaded Notepad++ & successfully edited & saved the kickstart files.

FYI: Windows notepad will corrupt the file so don't use it.
