Installation Issue with the SMP

Wenn trying to install the application, i allways receive the error:
unbale to install the smp universal edition application service. an older version of the service may exist. remove it before proceeding"
it's the very first time that i'm installing the software, i checked all services for older entries without success?!?

Installation platform is windows xp sp2 with microsoft initiator 2.4

any help appreciated.
