Is this a bug or a feature?
This is brought up by one of our engineers, and he has been able to replicate the problem multiple times by following the process below.
1.Build an image on client 1
2.Capture the image using â Create Disk Imageâ task (NOTE: The â Do not Boot to Windowsâ check box under the advance tab was unchecked as it should be)
3. Deploy image to Client 2 using the â Distribute Disk Imageâ task (â Automatically perform configuration task after completing this imaging taskâ check box, checked) Machine is built and post task completes successfully. Machine has a unique computer name and host name.
4.Make minor changes to image on Client 2.
5.Capture image from client 2 using the job created in step 2 (change the save image name)
6.Outcome: The image is captured as it should be but the re-application of the original client settings part of the process, does not apply the original configuration of client 2. When the job is completed Client 2 now has the same host and computer name as client 1. Hence the Duplicate Machine name error message.
This is not an RDP issue as our engineer was running Altiri

Re: Is this a bug or a feature?
Please note that this problem did not occur with the Altiris software packaged with RDP 1.30
