Linux and Bootworks - possible installation problem

Hi all!

I installed Red Hat AS 2.1 on my ProLiant DL 380 G2. After that installed the Linux client of RDP 1.5 . The client appears in the management console of my server. With Boot Disk Creator I created a set of disks for a Bootworks installation.
I booted the client with the disks and installed Bootworks succesfully. After several reboots and file transfers between server and client, the client booted to production.
In the properties section of the console, it is not dislayed that Bootworks is installed on the client.
And that is my problem....
I think it is a problem of the Bootworks installation, in the logfile it says:
"Couldn't find Bootwork on /dev/hda, hda appears to be CDROM"

I want the images be saved on my server and not locally, for this reason I created a disk set to create an embedded partition.

Are you saying you want to store the image inside the bootworks partition? If so, you may already have wahat you want, although you may want to disable PXE on the target to avoide adlagent confusion.

In the console, you need to check the box that says "local image store" and store the image to c:\xxxxx.img. This is because bootowrks is DOS and DOS will see the active partition (bootworks) as drive C: when it is booting.

Hi!

There is no PXE installed, because I am running a testing environment and I don't want to screw the Altiris / PXE server which is already in production.
I do not wat to store the image locally. I want to save it on my server.

I also posted my problem in the Altiris.com forums and got the response, that I cannot use a Bootworks partition with Linux.
The only way to make Linux images is with PXE (which I can't use) or a Bootworks boot disk (which is uncomfortable).

Can you confirm this??

As a side note...I have seen in the past (and this was on Windows boxes) that we needed to go into the F9 RBSU and disable PXE on port 1 once the Bootworks partition was installed. Apparently there is a conflict between the PXE enabled nic and the bootworks partition. Don't know if that is the case here with the Linux boxes though.
