Multicasting x Ethereal
Hi All,
I am trying to distribute disk images to N computers using multicasting in the DS Console. The images are properly distributed, however it seems the multicasting is not working. I "sniff" my LAN with Ethereal, it gathers only Multicast packages from PXE Server (224.1.1.2, Port 1759). I think I should see Multicast packages from RapiDeploy (224.2.0.2 - 224.2.0.20, Port 401), should not I?
My configuration:
1) RapiDeploy multicating optimization is the default: 224.2.0.2 - 224.2.0.20, Port 401
2) DS disk image group settings
Both options "Use disk image multicast thresould of" and "Limit.." are UNCKECKED
3) The DS NIC is not using "Offload Transmit TCP Checksum"
4) The Preboot Image is WinPE ("Auto-detect all network adapters" checked)
5) The switch allows multicasting
Am I missing something?
A final note, when I manually run RDeploy.exe for Multicasting master I get Multicast packages in Ethereal.
Thanks a lot,
Leandro

Re: Multicasting x Ethereal
Hi, if you are using or if you have installed NCU which is Network Configuration Utility, multicasting will be disabled, so you may either disable the net teaming or disconnect one of the LAN ports so that teaming would be disabled, therefore multicast will be supported.
You heve a question... I have an aswer!!!
