Problem Changing ESX 3.0 IP

Hello,
I've tryed unsuccesfully to change IP address of ESX 3.0 using RDP Console's utility. Task ends with an error. This is a bit obnoxius since I have a limited IP range and I can not make DHCP reservations for NIC's MACADDRESS provided ESX uses virtual switch MAC address to get a DHCP asignation.
Did anybody got the same problem?
I'm trying to solve this by using a scripting job.
