PSP 8.6 / hpsum -3 error with RDP and G7
Hi there
I have a strange error with PSP 8.6 using RDP. We have RDP running happily and well within our environement using PSP 8.3 with the /f /s switches for hpsum, however when we add PSP 8.6 we get a -3 error returned to RDP.
After investigation I have narrowed this down to cp013067.exe which returns the error
"The installation program couldn't find the appropriate system management controller driver which is required but not currently installed"
which indictaes that the ilo3 controller driver is not installed. This is correct, however later on in the hpsum process the ilo3 driver (cp013143.exe) installs successfully and a rerun of hpsum using the /c switch on cp013067.exe does in fact work.
Obviously as we are using an automated process I would rather not have to go through all our jobs and create a spearate job just for one component. This will also require a lot more work in future PSP releases etc.
Is there anyway to get round this issue such as specifying a particular order that the components are installed in?
i have actually tried a few hpsum switches, such as on depency fail with no success.
Many Thanks

Re: PSP 8.6 / hpsum -3 error with RDP and G7
Hi,
Have you updated RDP to 6.2.1.7? This adds additional post scripts to scripted instalss and sysprep images based installs that install the ilo3 driver for you before the PSP install is run. This worked for me ;)

Another thing you can try is a workaround is to add the error number to the Return Codes of that particular job so when it comes up it will just continue rather than stop.
I have used that when patches fail just because they require a reboot right away.
