PXE booting (WinPE) in Large Scale

Hi All,

Acording to the Altiris documentation the multicast PXE booting is not provided in WinPE:

-----------

"Although multicast imaging is supported in WinPE and Linux, multicast PXE booting is
not provided in WinPE and is not supported in Linux. That means that after each
computer has booted to automation, an imaging task can be multicast, but you cannot
use multicast to boot these computers."

ALTIRIS┬о Deployment Solution 6.8 Preboot Automation Environment

-----------

So a large number of machines will take a loooong time for booting. Besides that sometimes machines got a error:

File тАж\WINPE.ISO could not be loaded
The error code is 21

What are the alternatives for this issue?
Install N PXE Servers?

Thanks in advanced,

Leandro

Re: PXE booting (WinPE) in Large Scale

Hello,

Did you or anyone else ever figure this out? I've got the exact same error when trying to boot into the WinPE environment. The server tries to download the OS over TFTP and then it bombs out with this message. I'm stuck!

Can anybody help with this?

Thanks
