PXE-MOF error after upgrade from RDP 2.1 to RDP 3.10

After upgrading from HP RDP 2.1 to HP RDP 3.10, PXE booting no longer functions for me. Attempting to PXE boot a server results in a PXE-MOF message. The PXE boot menu for RDP is never displayed.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Re: PXE-MOF error after upgrade from RDP 2.1 to RDP 3.10

In an effort to troubleshoot, I tried changing a few settings under the PXE Configuration Utility. Unfortunately, saving the changes has resulted in the my RDP server remaining in a state of constantly being updated but never completing the update process.

The update status shows two menu items (by their number) under both "Deleting" and "Changing". I can how this might cause a problem since it might be trying to update and delete these menu items at the same time. Also, one of the menu items doesn't even exist (nor has it ever existed).

Just though I'd add some additional confusing information to the problem. Is there any way to simply start over with PXE (IE wipe out the entire PXE configuration and have RDP rebuild it)?

The M0F tends to mean the server did not receive a PXE file. For *testing* - connect all your NICS on your test server to the same network as the PXE server. In RDP 2.x you only have to worry about 1 NIC but in RDP 3.x you get to worry about all the NICs.

Re: PXE-MOF error after upgrade from RDP 2.1 to RDP 3.10

Figured it out. My RDP (which also hosts DCHP) server is on a different network than the servers (blades) I am trying to PXE boot. I could have sworn the RDP 3.10 installer asked me if I wanted to disable Multicast during installation and I told it yes. However, I finally noticed that "Enable MTFTP" was checked under the Multicast tab on the PXE Configuration Utility. Unchecking that box resolved my issue.

Disabled MTFTP - RDP server is not on the same network as clients.
