Raid 5 + Hotspare Hardware Configuration
Has anyone successfully used RDP to forcibly configure a 6 disk system as a single Raid 5 array on 5 disks and a hotspare on the 6th?
We want to use R5+HSP instead of the automatic ADG or R5 on all disks.

If it ain't broke don't fix it.

Re: Raid 5 + Hotspare Hardware Configuration
No can't say that I have. ;o)
But I would do the following:
1. Do the RAID configuration manually
2. Do a capture of the RAID config using the "Read ProLiant ML/DL/BL Array Configuration" job
3. Examine the capture.ini file for see how its done
4. Use the new capture.ini to deploy on the servers using the "Write ProLiant ML/DL/BL Array Configuration" job.
If it works, I would rename the capture.ini to a more saying name and even make a new job for this.
Regards
Kim

Re: Raid 5 + Hotspare Hardware Configuration
From the ACU Manual - pages 45/51
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/CoreRedirect.jsp?targetPage=http%3A%2F%2Fh200002.www2.hp.com%2Fbc%2Fdocs%2Fsupport%2FSupportManual%2Fc00142272%2Fc00142272.pdf
It looks like:
Onlinespare = port:ID
in the Array section.
There's an existing R5 ini in the array config jobs in RDP 2.1
