RDP 3.1 - 3.5 Upgrade Nothing works now.

Hello all
After problems not being able to get Server 2003 R2 x64 onto my new blades via Qlogic FBC and realising that our RDP was on version 3.1 i have now upgraded to 3.5 (no problem) and nothing works, not even 32bit installs which worked previously.
The onboard controller is still disabled as i was to boot from SAN the disk is being seen by the controller fine.
When the job goes through and it loads the first Ramdisk image reboots and goes round in circles nothing moves on, the detail always stays on deploy system configuration and does not move.

Also i have tried to use Smart Start but it does not see the QLogic cards to be able to deploy anything.

I hope someone can help me as i have been left in the wilderness somewhat by the copany who supplied the HW/SW.

Yes it is to come but in the meantime i have got 4 days to install O/S's on 9 BL460's .. Not good.

What kind of error do you have when booting to pxe?
Do you get an address from DHCP? Can you connect to pxe server?

As far as i can see it boots to PXE fine it must do to get the first Ramdisk image from RDP?
I can see no error...

Then

Starting x86 altiris Pre Boot Automation Enviroment

Then

HP Proliant Essentials Rapid deployment Pack ( splash Screen) pops up sits there for a minute or so (nothing else on screen) then reboots and does the exact same again over and over.

Forgot to Say i did perform the MD5 hash check on the new RDP 3.5 image .. all was fine.

Hi Jeff,

i see, you've read the other thread about "nothing is going on"... I think there is a problem with an upgrade from RDP3.1 to 3.5. The guy from the other thread installed RDP3.5 on a clean server, so there was no error to expect. DOS Jobs are working fine, but WinPE will show you only the HP background and that's it! You can't even debug the failure, because no logs will give you any information.

Maybe the problem will be solved here. I really don't want to install RDP3.5 completely new.

SAN disks, the Qlogic cards can see the Vdisk presented to the blade, i have disabled the onboard controller.

When it happened to me, it was because the disks were not seen. Try the showdisk command

I have since uninstalled 3.5 and reinstalled from scratch. Still the same.
