SmartStart Scripting Toolkit Linux Edition and multiple controllers

Has anyone used the SSTK tools ifhw and/or hwquery to query a server with multiple array controllers to discover which has how many drives and them pass that to another script?

The simplist example I can give is we have some servers with 5i/6i controllers and then a 5300 or 6400. We would like the script to go out, find out which has the drives attached, and use that information to set the appropriate boot order.

Any pointers would be appreciated!
