Re: 1703 Drive Array Controller Failure

Dear Dawn1

As per your given scenario, it seems to be The cache module or controller is experiencing a fault. The cache module or controller has failed.

Action

Disconnect power from server => Removed RAID controller card => clean it and slot => check if there is any cache and battery installed/connected => if found cache module installed => remove and refixed => refixed controller and try to power on. if possible please update BIOS, ILO, controller firmware codes. If error persists, replace controller or both.

Hope, I could provide you with clear and helpful instructions. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, don't hesitate to ask. I'm here to help! Have a great day!

Thanks & Regards.

Re: 1703 Drive Array Controller Failure

the currect os of this server is Win server 2012 R2 , with 1 faulty (amber indicator) on the 300GB hot swappable hdd- a total of 10 hdd, then we tried to turn it off for how many months due to no available UPS. Now, if we turn on the server and tried to proceed to first boot cd(os) to reformat the OS, no storage detected or no disk available for installing the OS. i also tried to run the smart start (CD) to check the problem : under array configuration utility , it displays "no controller found" that's why i would like to configure the controller using F8 .

Re: 1703 Drive Array Controller Failure

Dear Dawn1

Already I mentioned the steps in previous post. Please go through the steps. if issue still persists then you need to replace the controller. you existing configuration will be intact if you donot remove any drives from its cage, or do not change any configuration in ACU.

Also Let me know, after the steps which i suggested, will completed.

Best regards.

Rabindra.

Re: 1703 Drive Array Controller Failure

Dear Dawn1

Last SPP you can use for G6 is verison 2016.10.0:
https://support.hpe.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=MTX_3c2bfcb8c3b446a7a9451c4ab9
To download it you should have vaild warranty and connected with HPESC site with HP PAssport.

My suggetion is Please arrange to replace the RAID Controller card.
