1775 error on startup

I have a 5300 RAID controller in the box, with 3 18GB HD's and 1GIG RAM, and on boot up on two separate systems, I keep getting a 1775 error that the drives could not be found, and that I should check the cables. This can't be a coincidence. What am I doing wrong? What information would help? Email me at derek@borderfree.com if you like.

Thanks!

This should be fairly simple. How do you have this cabled? Do you still have the integrated array module installed (remove it if you aren't using it)?

Re: 1775 error on startup

I had plugged in the terminated cable that came inside the box, so that both external ports on the controller would be disabled. Once I disconnected that cable, the problem went away.

thanks

Re: 1775 error on startup

Ok - makes sense. You don't need to terminate the controller. The embedded controller only needs the RAID module removed to work fine. It can then be used as a standard SCSI card...
