So I have a DL380 G8, 2 CPUs installed, 8 Sticks of 16GB RDIMM.
From a cold boot it initilizes all the memory fine but as soon as I reboot from the linux shell it always fails to initilize the 12th slot of CPU 2. Turning the server off completely and doing a cold boot results in a normal POST without the requirement to reseat the RAM or anything.
EDIT: I have tried swapping RAM sticks and reflashing the P70 BIOS without any success. It is always Slot 12 on Processor 2 that fails to detect after a reboot from any OS not just Unix based ones.
Solved! Go to Solution.
