431 Array controller
I need to know if a Compaq 431 Array controller will work with a ProLiant DL360 server. I believe the 431 Array is Ultra 3, but the DL360 comes with a intergrated Ultra2 array already. Are there any issues if I use the Ultra 2 with Ultra 3 drives?
Thanks

Re: 431 Array controller
No problem. We have several DL360s like that. The price differential between U2 and U3 was small at the time and it gives us the flexibility to upgrade to better RAID controller, like 431 or 53xx. The drives will run in U2 mode, taxing out at 80MB/cc versus 160MB.

Re: 431 Array controller
No real issues, but you SHOULD remove the integrated array chip from the system if you do not intend to use it.
