Re: 641 controller problems on ML350
Dwight:
Do the drives spin up? If so, you have power to the cage. If not, there is a power cable that goes from the power supply tot he drive cage. Find it and make sure it is firmly seated.
Does the server boot correctly?
If not, open the server pannel and check the SCSI point to point cable from the 641 to the drive cage. Make sure there are no bent pins and then the cable is firmly seated to the backplane and the controller.
Anything?
Next Enter the RBSU and make sure the boot controller order is set to use the SmartArray 641 Controller. You should check all the other settings in the server as well. (i.e., O/S selection, boot device order, etc.)
Let us know if this does not get the system going?
You still need to run SmartStart after the 1775 error is cleared up to configure your array(s).
G'luck! -john
