750W Power Supply problems 512327-b21

Does any know a any advisories or bulletins on problems with this supply. It looks like there may be a bad lot of supplies, and it would be nice to have the advisory number to give to India. We have been having these crash servers and it takes about a week to convince the idiots in India to send some out someone to swap out the supplies.

Re: 750W Power Supply problems 512327-b21

Hi Richard,

750 W hot-plug AC power supply:
Option Part# 512327-B21
Spare Part# 511778-001

This power supply is used in some ProLiant G6 and G7 servers.
There are no customer advisory that is available.

If you explain in detail what exactly happens with these power supplies or servers, may be we can help you fix it.

We require the server serial number(s) on which you are experiencing the power supply failure.

Thanks

Re: 750W Power Supply problems 512327-b21

So replacing the power supply in the servers affected always seems to fix the problem? I have seen a lot of problems on G6 and G7 series servers where using a low end UPS will cause issues that may appear to be power supply issues.
The truth is out there, but I forgot the URL..

Re: 750W Power Supply problems 512327-b21

From what I have found out the power supplies with part number 506822-201 have been fixed, ones with part number 506822-1xx have problems. I know it's needs to be on a sine wave ups, there are documents on HP & APC web sites explaining that.
