activate spare disk

Hi,
I have the following configuration:
[root@firenze ~]# hpacucli ctrl slot=1 show config

Smart Array 642 in Slot 1 (sn: P5A8A0JXQR100C)

array A (Parallel SCSI, Unused Space: 0 MB)

logicaldrive 1 (136.7 GB, RAID 1+0, OK)

physicaldrive 2:0 (port 2:id 0 , Parallel SCSI, ??? GB, Failed)
physicaldrive 2:1 (port 2:id 1 , Parallel SCSI, 146.8 GB, OK)
physicaldrive 2:2 (port 2:id 2 , Parallel SCSI, 146.8 GB, OK, active spare)

array B (Parallel SCSI, Unused Space: 0 MB)

logicaldrive 2 (558.8 GB, RAID 5, OK)

physicaldrive 2:3 (port 2:id 3 , Parallel SCSI, 300 GB, OK)
physicaldrive 2:4 (port 2:id 4 , Parallel SCSI, 300 GB, OK)
physicaldrive 2:5 (port 2:id 5 , Parallel SCSI, 300 GB, OK)

My question is:
is the spare disk working ?

I mean .. I expect that when the failed disk was broken the spare disk is gone to substitute the failed disk.. but it seems that this not happened..
It seems that the data are in only one disk.. it that true ?

thanks very much for any help.

Re: activate spare disk

IIRC you see "sare" only if the disk is not used, "active spare" when used.

Hope this helps!
