acu hangs

I just installed the 7.40 support pack on 2 proliant servers (1850r & a ml370) that never had an SSD before.
All seems to work ok but the Array Configuration Utility hangs when I start it. It opens an IE window but only partly paints it and never finishes. After 10 minutes I close it (says IE not responding). Firmware on the controllers & system is up to date. On one box I even installed an old ACU (5.40 SSD) and have same result. Any ideas?

Just for curio can you uninstall from ADD/Remove Programs ACU, System mismanagement Home page and agents, than restart after reinstall
