Add drives to existing RAID 5 Array

We have an HP Proliant ML150 G6, with RAID5 configured for 3 physical disks. Is it possible to add another disk, extend the logical disk without resetting or erasing the existing config? We are quite low in space already and will need some additional storage room.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Add drives to existing RAID 5 Array

Hi,

You may add additional drive's if the Raid Controller supports Expansion and Extension of RAID without losing the data.

Most controllers require additional BBWC to perform this task.

Do check the controller specs before proceeding.

Don't forget to take a backup of your data before performing this activity.

Thank You!
