Add-in IDE Controller
Added PCI IDE controller(SIIG Ultra ATA/66) to a 3000R to allow use of a large(>30GB) IDE drive.
Server gets "Post error: 101-ROM I/O error", hangs at this point.
What is this error code? Any recommendations on how to proceed would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Add-in IDE Controller
Remove the IDE controller and drive . The Server does not support IDE drives and additional IDE controller . You'll need to use SCSI .

Re: Add-in IDE Controller
OK - great. Does anyone know the specifics on this error code, or where I can find the info for myself?

Re: Add-in IDE Controller
Roger, I just bought a ProLiant 3000 (used). It came with only two 4GB SCSI in the Array. Can I install an IDE hard drive into this server via the IDE controller (the same IDE controller the CD-ROM is plugged into)?
