Adding an additional RAID Controller
My Proliant 6000 has 5 18GB drives running Raid 5 with a smart 3200 Array controller.
I want to add an additional drive cage with 3 36GB drives running on a second smart 3200 array controller on RAID 5. How would I go about doing this and is there anything I should be aware of?

Re: Adding an additional RAID Controller
Hello;
As long as the system is up to date firmware and driver-wise, you should have no problems adding the new hardware.
Add in the controller and the drives, run the Array Configuration Utility either from SmartStart (version previous to 6.0) or from the Operating System to configure the new array and assign logical drives.
The 3200 controller is dual-channel; you may want to utilize that rather than adding a second controller, depending on your configuration requirements.
Sincerely,
Janine Bertolo
