Adding new LUN using Array Configuration Utility not see by VMware
Dear all,
I have a new HP DL380 G5 server. I installed ESX Server 3.5 with HP management tools and ACU. Everything works fine. I can manage my disk and create new LUNs. The problem I have is when I add a new LUN; ESX doesn't seem to see the newly created LUN. When I logon to the ESX host console and do an "fdisk -l" and can't see the new LUN. But after I created the new LUN, I see this message into /var/log/messages:
Feb 6 08:37:13 esx-01 cmaeventd[9233]: Logical drive 3 of Array Controller in slot 1, has changed from status Unconfigured to OK
This tells me that the system is aware of the hardware change, but it is not reflected at the OS level. I suppose I will see it when I will restart the ESX hosts, but if there is a solution to prevent rebooting after adding another LUN, I will appreciate it.
Thank you all and best regards,
Yanick
