Adding Ultra ATA/100 Pci controler to Proliant 5500

I'm trying to add a couple of 120 gig IDE drives to a Proliant 5500 that currently has a 60 gig Raid on the Smart 2 controler. The board has beed added with the server setup utility. The raid controler is the first boot controler. The system partition is on the raid. When the card is in the box the system can't find a boot drive. If I take the card out it boots normally. Any thoughts...? Thanks in advance.

I've had the exact same problem when attempting to add a Promise Ultra/100 card to my Proliant 5000. The Promise card would be selected as the boot device no matter what I set the BIOS to. I switched to a Promise FastTrak/100 and the boot priority settings started working properly. My guess is that the Promise Ultra/100 bios extension didn't fully support boot priority. Try using a different controller card.

That is the exact card I'm using. Thanks for the tip.
