ADU - How to determine failed array cache module onboard or add on
The array diagnostic utility is telling me the accelerator is permanently disabled. I want to determine if it is either the cache built onboard the controller, the extra BBWC cache module, or both that is failing.
Obviously I want it to be the 128MB BBWC module because it can be easily replaced.
I have run the array diagnostic, but I am not able to determine from the report which cache is causing the problem.
My question is how can I determine which is the bad cache?

Re: ADU - How to determine failed array cache module onboard or add on
1. Firmware is Quite old, but there is a bug with 2.80 so my advice is to update to 2.76
2. This is the error:
SLOT 1 Smart Array 6400 Controller ERROR REPORT:
Array accelerator status:
Permanently disabled
Warranty alert
This warning means that the Cache module is not used at the moment.
If you can afford yourself downtime for a couple of minutes try to shutdown the server and to reseat the cache module.
If nothing changes after that, just uninstall it and check if the server sees any other errors, so that you can be 100% sure that the cache should be changed.
I Hope this info is useful for you.
