Alarms in MLI regarding smartarray p400 disk (DL380 G5)
Hi all,
I never noticed the alarms that were happening in IML but there were a couple of situations some months ago that generated:
LOG: POST Error: 1787-Drive Array Operating in Interim Recovery Mode
and
LOG: POST Error: 1789-Drive Not Responding, Physical Drive
# hpacucli controller slot=1 show
Smart Array P400 in Slot 1

# hplog -v | egrep "1787|1789" | wc -l
43
Everything seems ok but can anyone let me know if there is any additional debugging in can do to verify that both disks and the array are OK?

Hi,
I had this prob as well.
You should take a look to your cache battery. I don't know how to do that in UNIX, in windows you would notice events from the storage agents in the event log telling the battery is failed.

Was the issue with kernel messages related to the Smart Array battery?

Notice if cmahostd of the HP snmp agents is killed these kernel messages stopped.
