APM BIOS Settings on ML115 G5
Under APM, in the BIOS settings of the ML115 G5, I have these options:
Force Throttle ? (enabled)
Manual Throttle Ratio 50%
System Thermal (enabled)
Thermal Throttle Ratio 50%
I do not understand them. Can I use these to make the fans slow down, to make the machine a lot quieter?
Thanks

Re: APM BIOS Settings on ML115 G5
I have found out that the Thermal throttle reduces the processor clock speed when it gets hot - to avoid the machine having to shut down, it just runs more slowly.
I still do not know what the Force throttle option is though. I chenged it to 12.5%, but it did not seem to make any difference to anything (while the machine is idling most of the time, at least).
So does anybody know what the first option does?
