Array Controllers
DL580 with additional Smart Array 5300 installed. No drives on integrated controller. 4 drives in RAID 1 config on 5300. After NT installation intermittent STOP errors during reboots after installation of subsequent software(PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA). Eventually STOP errors continuous. All memory checked out ok(12 dimms). Had to remove RAID chip on in built controller and now NT Boots ok. Do these raid controllers conflict? Now have a device load failure cpqarry2. Is it safe to disable this driver loading as I dont need the in built controller to functiom?

Re: Array Controllers
The Integrated Smart Controller (ROC) must be remove when using another Smart Array Controller in the Server . The driver for the controller should be unloaded .

Re: Array Controllers
I've noticed however that the onboard integrated smart array controller can only be disabled with the cd that comes with the 53xx controller (i.e. smartstart 4.81). When I try this with smartstart 4.90 I cannot disable the onboard..... strange...

Re: Array Controllers
Yes, it is safe to disable the "boot" device for cpqarry2 since it is not being used. I used the SmartStart 4.7 to disable the onboard controller and the device driver for cpqarry2.
