ASR Detected system ROM

I am experiencing problems with this server. It is rebooting itself and insight manager reports "ASR detected system ROM).
It has 512 MB RAM (2 * 256) removed one of the 256 RAM but still rebooted. I am about to replace the mem from another server, but if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it.

Re: ASR Detected system ROM

Disable ASR in BIOS thru F10 System Configuration Utility to capture on the screen any messages description(s) and error codes. A server experiencing self-reboots can be caused by a bad memory module, bad processor or processor board, PCI Bustmastering SCSI device and a Power Supply that could be going bad. Monitor these things and try the swap-in and out method to narrow the problem down.

Re: ASR Detected system ROM

Thanks for the reply.

Memory and Power supply have been replaced but the server still rebooted. I have now disabled the ASR through Insight Manager. Now waiting for the server to reboot again.

Re: ASR Detected system ROM

The server locked up this morning. There were no errors and the whole server locked up, so we have no clues as to why this server is locking up.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Re: ASR Detected system ROM

I don't have any additional information but I've noticed the same problem on two different 2500s. The lockups only seem to occur when I load the CIM management agents (running NW 5.1). If I do not load the agents the server runs reliably.

Re: ASR Detected system ROM

I experience the same problems with a Proliant 2500 - NT4 SP6a
I have disabled all CIM agents to find out if one of the services is causing the problem.

This server is used as a Print server, could the problem be related?
