Battery In RAID controller

Hello
I have a DL380 Gen9 where the raid-controller (P440ar )battery needs to be replaced. The servers has inactivated the chache functionallity of the RAID card.

Thi is a verry vital server and we cant turn it down until next month.
Question:
-What risk are we taking?
The OS is running on RAID1 where the battery is out of order.
-Is it only degraded performance or are there other coinsiderations in case of a failed disk in the rad1 config?
-Is it possible to rebuild the one disk if its replaced when the cache function is out of order?

Re: Battery In RAID controller

You will see low performance since the write cache is disabled.

You can even overwrite this at your own risk.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Battery In RAID controller

Ok so the rebuild functionallity still works even that the cache is disabled and the battery is out of order?
