Bios Setup PL1600

My Harddisk is crshed an I want to setup a new Win2K-Server.
To change the boot-order i must configure the BIOS. How can I do this???

The setup program is disk based. You can run it from floppy disk, smartstart cd or from a system partition (after you installed it there).

If you have a SmartStart cd then you can boot from SmartStart cd to configure the system and install the operating system. You can also use the SmartStart cd to create driver disks (including system setup disks).

The last SmartStart version which supports the P1600 is V5.50.

Perhaps I'm too stupid, but I can't find any version of SmartStart to download because I have no CD.
Where can I find it ?

You can find the System Configuration Utility at http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/13227.html. This will download an exe file. Save to disk. Once download is complete, double-click on the exe and follow the prompts. It will extract the contents to your hard drive. Then you will run QRST5.EXE. This will build the floppies that you can boot from and configure your system.

Once you have your OS loaded, you can the download the latest support pack for your model at http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/. Select your server, model, and OS. Good luck!

Now I see that my message was not clear.

You can download drivers but not the SmartStart CD.

That is correct. The CDs are not available for download, but you should be able to call the SmartStart Hotline at 800-635-8269, Select option 5. They should be able to mail a current CD set to you. You should make sure to have serial numbers of your servers handy.

Hello,
Please make sure that you specify the Version of Smart Start as 5.50 if you want to have the system partition on the hard drive. The latest Smart Start CD wont install the system partition on the HDD.
