Blade Server Power supply Issues
I have installed 3 BL-P class Blade enclosures with the support of 2- 3U Power enclosures in Single Phase Line. Each power enclosure is installed with 4 power supplies. Now i am going to add one more Blade Enclosure in this setup. Is my Power enclosre will take the Load of total 4 Blade enclosures???
Also i have connected to the service port of the 2 power enclosures and taken the report. i have attached the report.
In this report only one power enclosure is taking the total load.
Pls let me know is this power enclosures are working ok?? and can i install one more blade enclosure???
Thanks,
Navaneet

Re: Blade Server Power supply Issues
You can add additional enclosure, observe your load per side and manage them.
Page 40
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00370682/c00370682.pdf
If you adding newer enclosure with newer servers look over Firmware for Enclosure 2.30
Update one at time only
http://h18023.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/24088.html
First image with two black stripes look for dotted line when it reach center, any load after will produce errors with missing redundancy.
What you use for power source numbers on the both Power enclosures slightly different. UPS for one enclosure or two different power branches with different voltage (look over 248C and 4CBB)?
Configure trough calculator also
http://h30099.www3.hp.com/configurator/calc/Power%20Calculator%20Catalog.xls
it takes time to load

Re: Blade Server Power supply Issues
Thanks for the Reply.
I have connected the load balancing cable in between the two power enclosures.
All the 3 blade enclosures are installed with BL20P-G3 Servers.Currently 24 BL20P G3 Blades installed. I am going to add another 8 Nos Bl20P-G3 servers. So total will be 32 Bl20P-G3 Blades.
So this total 32 Bl20P-G3 servers will work with my existing power(2 3U Power enclosures with 4 power supplies each in single phase line)
The Enclosure Power used in first is=10412W is taken from one power enclosure.
The Enclosure Power used in second is=1530W Is my setup is in redundant mode???
or i have to do any changes ???
Thanks,
Navaneet

it hard to say if you would experience problem or not
it all depend on the number of HDD, CPU, Memory, FC, Interconnects and Voltage that you apply 208 or 240
