Booting problem on DL380 G2 - problem with the array
All,
Can anyone tell me what could be causing my server to get a error when booting. The error is with the array CNTRL.
Error:
1775 - Slot 0 Drive array - Proliant Storage enclosure not responding.
SCSI Port 1: Check storage enclosure power switch and cables. Turn system power off while checking Proliant power & cableconnections. Then turn system power back on to retry.
I hit the F1 to continue and the server boots. There is an external DLT drive attached but I powered it off and I still get the error.
Any idea will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jim S.

Re: Booting problem on DL380 G2 - problem with the array
Check that the external drives are connected to the externa connector that corresponds to the second channel of the Array Controller.
Connector are for exclusive use. All internal internal drives to one connector and external drives to the other connector.
The same port cannot be used internally and externally at the same time.
Luis

Re: Booting problem on DL380 G2 - problem with the array
Hey Luis,
Thanks for your input. There is only 1 port for the external drive. Even though the external drive is powered off and let say it is bad, will I still get an error message or is this error saying that the card maybe the problem?
