Cache allocator out of memory
The server is in production and working OK except that when I try to load Arcserve 6.6 Sp4 it loads but gives me a "Cache allocator out of available memory" error. I have 2 GIG of RAM in the server. Anyone else have this issue? I've successfully installed ARC 6 on 52 others Proliants but not the ML570 before and have never had this error. CA suport is baffled

Re: Cache allocator out of memory
Make certain there are no memory managers loading in the Config.sys file in DOS (i.e. HIGHMEM.SYS , EMM386 , etc ) and also Smartdrive in the Autoexec.bat .
SET MINIMUM NUMBER OF CACHE BUFFERS to a lower value and restart the server.
Change the order of LOAD and MOUNT commands in AUTOEXEC.NCF and
STARTUP.NCF files to MOUNT volumes before loading additional NLMs and
restart server

Re: Cache allocator out of memory
There have been multiple memory issues with having 2 Gig or more in a Net Ware server. Net Ware starts registering memory from the "top down" instead of the bottom. Try putting in less than 2 Gig of memory and try loading ARC serve again.
