Can't get ML110 with NT4 on network

I recently purchased a Proliant ML110 that I want to use as a BDC on my NT4 network. I am loading NT4 server direct from CD, and the only problem I ran into was that I needed to download an NT4 NIC driver from Broadcom, then the machine detected and installed the NIC fine (at least it seemed). When I get to the part in the NT4 setup where you start the network and join the domain, the server will not connect to the network. Since I'm installing NT4 as a BDC, you can't skip this step, so I can't finish the installation and check drivers later. All settings are correct, and I even tried installing a different NIC (3com 3C-905), with a proper NT4 driver, and doing a fresh install with the new NIC and got the same result. Something in the chipset or something that would prevent me from connecting to the network with NT4? Thanks.
