Cannot boot RHEL Installation Disk DVD after upgrading CD-ROM to DVD Player on ProLiant DL385
I have the RHEL media (direct from Red Hat). The installation is on a disk labeled "DVD 1 Installation Disk 1 of 1". The installation disk wouldn't boot but then I realized my ProLiant had a CD-ROM in it so I replaced it with a DVD.
The behavior is now the same -- the installation disk won't boot. Interestingly the "Rescue Disk" that comes with the RedHat media kit *will* boot, but it doesn't say DVD on it so it may be a CD. I also have a downloaded ISO image that I burned onto a CD that will boot.
I'm thinking that the ProLiant may still think that the newly installed DVD player is still a CD player??
Any ideas much appreciated!
Chris

Go into the RBSU and check the discovered devices - this may solve this issue I hope ...
Hope this helps!

Torsten.
