cannot install UBUNTU server 12.04 on DL320e Gen8 with two disks 1TB each

I setup the raid controller, RAID1, the Volume, I choose it to be bootable, but at the installation of Server Ubuntu found 2 partitions of 1 Teraa each, not the one partition of my logical drive. Please Help

General rule is ProLiant Gen8 "e" series servers come with either the Smart Array B120i or B320i controller. The "B" series Dynamic Smart Array controllers require the "hpvsa" driver which currently is not available for Debian/Ubuntu.

Some "e" series controlers ship with an optional "P" series Smart Array. This controller uses the open source "hpsa" driver that is supported pretty much by all Linux distributions.

Options:

Put the controller in SATA AHCI mode and use the RAID options of the OS.

Install a "P" series Smart Array controller.

There is something, but it looks like it's a work in progress - probably not stable.

https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu-certification/+question/214703 mentions that HP has a beta driver only available for select customers. If you want to you could request access.
