[Caution: Newbie in Forum]: Can I install OS from external device?

Want to know if possible to install to new system that does not have internal OS ... all three bays (Proliant DL160) are filled with Hard drive. Want to install OS from a CD/DVD; but since no internal drive ... can I attach one via USB and set that as a boot device in BIOS setup?

Thank you for patience with the "new guy". It's a one-man shop so all my SysAdmin experience has always been O.J.T. and through help of nice folks like you! Appreciate it!

Yes you can boot from USB DVD device
