cciss errors on DL380 with Fedora Core 2
Hi,
I have got a DL380 with Fedora Core 2 installed on one 36GB disk.
Recently we installed a Promise RM8000 RAID disk with 1TB of disk space on the external SCSI connector.
This was partitioned as one partition and formatted with an ext3 filesystem. The external disk soon repored errors in the messages file which I have appended at the bottom.
I disconnected this disk, thinking it was at fault, and connected it to an SGI Onyx we have here. I have thrashed the disk for a couple of weeks by filling it, emptying it and overwriting existing files with no errors.
Today I have noticed that during an 'up2date' process the system disk has started reporting the same errors as the RAID did.
I have noticed on the web that there is a special driver from HP for the cciss controller but none are available for Fedora distros.
Can someone let me know how I should get this system to work reliably? I don;t mind switching to a RedHat supported distro if that helps.
Amy help would be appreciated.
Cheers,
Jason
