CD ROM data error (cyclic redundancy check)
Dear all,
I encounter numerous time of this error but it can resolved by eject and reinsert the CD againt. Then i can copy the file from CDrom into the hard disk. When it fail this message is generated.
Please advice is this hardware problem or driver problem.
System:
Window 2003 service pack1
Proliant DL380R3
CD ROM detail: Compaq CD-ROM SN-124
Microsoft driver : 01-10-02; 5.2.3790.0

Hi
Don't think it's a driver problem usualy it's one of two things. A badly burned CD (or Old degraded CD) or a faulty or degraded laser in the CD-ROM drive..

The same CD is used for other PC without problem. Then it is more likely the laser had weaken for this machine.
