Changing raid disk with battery error
Hello guys,
Maybe it's a stupid question but I find nothing about it.
I have a customer with an old gen 9 and 3 disk in raid 5 with a smart array.
One disk is in predictive failure and the arrays battery is down.
Could I change the disk without shutdown the server?
Regards

Re: Changing raid disk with battery error
Hello,
Before performing any changes to the array, please ensure that there is a valid data back-up. Yes, you may replace the drive which is in predictive failure state.
Once rebuild is complete, also change the array cache battery, which requires server downtime.
